Born 1980 in Fairmont, West Virginia (home of Mary Lou Retton) conceptual artist Staci Offutt now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She received a BFA from West Virginia University (previously ranked #1 Party School in America and 2006 Sugar Bowl Champions) where she studied under some of the greatest contemporary geniuses of the Appalachian art world including Christopher Hocking and Paul Krainak. In 2006 she received her MFA from Parsons the New School for [Art and] Design.
